Vietnamese traditionally roasted coffee 1kg

  • Coffee in Vietnam is dark roasted for a strong, robust flavour, then often brewed using French Press or the iconic phin cà phê metallic drip filter that brews directly into the cup, then sweetened condensed milk is added to temper the strong brew and creates the original Vietnamese-style coffee including cà phê đen đá, cà phê sữa đá, cà phê đen nóng, cà phê sữa nóng and cà phê dừa.
  • How to brew Vietnamese Coffee: 1) What you need to brew Vietnamese-style coffee: coarse ground Vietnamese dark roast coffee, boiling water, sweetened condensed milk, a phin ca phe drip filter or French press cafetiere. 2) Pour 1-2 tablespoons of sweetened condensed milk into the bottom of your glass or cup, which creates the sweet base for your coffee. 3) Boil the water and let it cool down for 30 seconds to just below boiling point.
  • How to brew Vietnamese Coffee: 4) Measure out 2-3 tablespoons of the coarsely ground coffee and add to the phin ca phe drip filter or French press. 5) Press the grounds down gently using the top screen of the phin ca phe to ensure they're flat and even.
  • How to brew Vietnamese Coffee: 6) Pour just enough hot water into the phin to cover the coffee grounds and let the coffee grounds bloom for 20 seconds. 7) The, fill to the top of the phin with hot water, place the lid on the phin and allow the coffee to drip slowly through into the glass or cup, which takes between 4 to 6 minutes.
  • How to brew Vietnamese Coffee: 8) Once the coffee has fully dripped through, stir it well with the sweetened condensed milk to create an authentic Vietnamese Coffee. 9) For iced coffee, after brewing, simply add ice cubes and stir. 10) If you prefer strong black coffee, just skip the condensed milk and enjoy the robust flavour of Vietnamese coffee on its own.

Coffee Beans
Brown Bear’s freshly roasted coffee beans are packed and heat-sealed into our coffee bags to keep the beany goodness and flavour inside. Ensure you have a quality grinder to get the most out of our coffee. Check out our coffee guide under About Us for some great how to guides.
Cafetière & Filter
Our fresh, pre-ground coffee is a simple, convenient option if you don’t have a home grinder. The coffee grind coarseness (our Omni grind) is perfect for cafetières (French press), and drip filters and can also be used in the Aeropress, Moka pots and coffee percolators. We’d always recommend whole beans for absolute freshness but if you do opt for pre-ground, it’s always best to keep them in an airtight container, away from light and use them as quickly as possible.
