Guatemala Antigua Coffee

Coffee is in every Guatemalan’s blood and is also a part of the culture as coffee is Guatemala’s No 1 export - and with good reason - as its Central Highlands are ideal for coffee growing. Indeed, coffees grown around the historic town of Antigua, surrounded by volcanoes in Southern Guatemala, with its high altitude and volcanic soil, deliver consistently fantastic Washed Process coffees and an elegant brew with sweet, caramel and dark chocolate notes completed with clean finish.

Ethiopian Yirgacheffe Coffee

Brown Bear® Coffee has added a beautiful African coffee to the range. There is no other coffee in the world like an Ethiopian Yirgacheffe; this iconic coffee is famous for its fruity red berry and lemony acidity due to its washed process Ethiopian Heirloom Arabica varieties. This coffee is predominantly grown 2000 metres above sea level in the Yirgacheffe area of Sidamo in Southern Ethiopia. Our Brown Bear Yirgacheffe is for those who appreciate a heady perfumed aroma and complex fruity notes.

Picchu Peru Coffee

Northwest of the ancient Machu Pichu ruins is the Chanchamayo province in the Central Peruvian Highlands. Where Arabica Caturra, Typica, Pache & Bourbon varieties are grown up to 1,400 metres above sea level. Peruvian coffee is not as well known as Colombian; these underrated Washed Process coffees produce a denser bean than at
lower elevations and a supremely balanced yet complex coffee, which is well worth brewing. Expect a balanced cup with medium body, slight acidity, floral, caramel and cinnamon notes, and a nice clean finish.

Brown Bear’s freshly roasted coffee beans are packed and heat-sealed into our coffee bags to keep the beany goodness and flavour inside.

Freshly ground coffee
Our fresh, pre-ground coffee is a simple, convenient option if you don’t have a home grinder. The coffee grind coarseness (our Omni grind) is perfect for cafetiéres (French press), and drip filters and can also be used in the Aeropress, Moka pots and coffee percolators. We’d always recommend whole beans for absolute freshness but if you do opt for pre-ground, it’s always best to keep in an airtight container, away from light and use as quickly as possible.
